I was impressed that they decided to stick with the old, shambling zombie meme... it'll be easier to build a long-running storyline on, but still, challenging to keep scary after a bunch of episodes! Sums up my opinion as well. From the links you provided, the pilot is supposed to be shown at some tv convention here in New York sometime in September. Whether it gets picked up from there, well, who knows? I don't see it getting picked up by a network myself.
