Dune works pretty well with the Unisystem: I ran two short campaigns on Lanstraad politics before the time of Paul (House Atreides was readying itself for Dune at the end of the last one). I decided to left some time for my players to read at least the first Dune novel before going any further.

By the way the Weirding Modules are a movie creation. The Dune miniserie made a few years ago did depict very nicely the Weirding Ways as a Martial Art, based on Tai Chi Chuan. That serie is pretty good, closer to the books (Gurney, my favorite character, is much better), but sadly lack the great touch of David Lynch.

The first Dune novel hold a very special place in my heart, and have been one of the most influencial book in my life. Together with Robert A. Heinlein's "Stranger in a strange land" and "Starship Troopers" (very little to do with the movie) they have crafted my way of seeing life, and gave me that ..er.. abrasive sense of humour and love for us, Humans.
(I would have added some touching violin music in the backgroud, but i'm either too poor or too cheap to offer you anything but some horrible musak) ;)
