Getting back on track - what kind of climate would we be searching for?

Dunno about y'all, but I'm headin' for the desert - too many years as an arid land wildlife biologist I guess. But, yeah, you need to have a circuit and know what to expect. Might be easier to deal with the undead and the hostile living. On the other hand, you're out in the open, so who knows?

True but Horses give birth to other Horses. Sometimes cars cant be fixed especially when you cant find proper tools or parts.

My thought exactly. Plus, in a pinch, you can't eat your car nearly as easily as you can eat a horse. ;)

I wouldn't be caught trying to keep 1000+ people in line anyway (nor be anywhere near a city or town), which makes nomadic a more viable option for me.

That's my take on it.

Moving 1000+ would be danged near impossible. It's hard enough for mechanized infantry. A bunch of civies? Nah.
Small, tight-knit groups. Tribes, if you will.

Biggest problem is still needing water.

Water, and hygiene. And food. It'd be a shame to find the perfect spot to hole up with 89 years of food and water only to have people start dying from cholera or pneumonia.

Nah, this old zombie's gonna have to take his chances and take the horror show on the white line nightmare...
