I don't see it as such. I see it more as someone misunderstanding what skeloric was saying. I really don't see those comments as being nasty. You do, so let's agree to disagree, and move on, because I don't see either of us changing our opinions on the subject (and I don't see that it's really important to the discussion at hand)

Some of us thought that this would be a gritty horror version of gameplay and not a dramatic illusion of one.

The BH page itself makes it fairly clear that BH would be useful for more than just horror games (the blurb mentions aliens, psychics and crusaders of justice). Eden has been fairly up front that BH is supposed to allow you to do everything from Cosmic powered superheroics, to Jason Voorhees, and anything in between. That's what BH is supposed to be about since day one.

It's also been pointed out by Eden (on more than one occassion) that BH will be compatible with both forms of Unisystem.

You and skeloric have concerns, and yes, they're valid ones. I think some of them are addressed by the fact that BH is going to be used for both versions of Unisystem. Whether or not the material on classic will be enough to suit your tastes is something I can't say.

Gun Fu, Getting Medieval, etc. It's not easy to transfer.

I can understand that transferring powers and magic requires more effort, due to said powers not using Essence.

On the other hand, I really don't see how the skills are hard to transfer at all. When you have Getting Medieval, and you convert over to classic, it means that character has every hand weapon skill available (because cinematic characters aren't restricted). It also means that when you convert a cinematic character over, they're going to end up costing way more than your starting classic character (because their skills have a wider base, because they are that damn good).

Now, if you don't want a straight conversion, then yes, I can see it being more difficult, because you now have to choose which specific hand weapons that character would have. Same with any other skills. But if you're doing a straight conversion, I really don't see how it's difficult, when the skills still function the same, with the exception that the cinematic versions allow the character to do much more for a far less expenditure in points.

Let me stress that this is simply my opinion, and not meant to invalidate yours. We differ on this matter, and that's all good by me. You made your opinion clear, and I'm just presenting another one as part of the conversation.

In closing, I'd like to say that if you and skeloric are that concerned over whether BH will be as useful to classic unisystem as it is for cinematic, why not inquire about becoming a playtester for the game? AFAIK, the playtest is still open, so you could possibly sign up for it, and help make the game what it will eventually become. It might help alleviate some of your concerns, or if it confirms them, allow you to try and inspire changes that would address those concerns.

I just wish Hollywood would really stop looting other stuff. They are the Roman Empire of Film!!- Canadian Pitbull, on Hollywood's obsession with remakes
