Actually, it is probably a good thing that they didn't have atomic bombs to try to destroy it! Hitting an asteroid with atomic bombs would only multiply the problem, since a large number of smaller impacts would be the result, damaging a larger area, kicking up more dust into the atmosphere, etc. Real world science has long since discarded the "vaporize the asteroid with atomic bombs" theory. (I never saw that episode, so I don't know how they had the main character single handedly solve the problem.)


Sliders kept coming oh so close to being a good show, but always seemed to adroitly veer away from goodness at the last moment. I found it very frustrating to watch! :\
