She was down with it! So here are the full-fledged Triton Qualities. In our game, they are split into 5 possible castes, so there's lengthy description to follow here! I'll break it up into a few posts here.

The descriptions and explanations, copied & pasted from our private forums:

All of these Qualities have the Nascent Triton Hybrid Quality (found on the site) as a prerequisite, and stack on top of said Quality. Haven't decided what I'll do with full-blooded Tritons yet...after thousands of years of interbreeding with human stock and exhausting the original survivors' internal genetic diversity, though, there aren't a lot of pure Tritons left, at least in the mainline verse. Anyway, all of these caste Qualities cost fifteen points, and all possess the following universal traits (in addition to those given in individual descriptions below):

- One additional free rank of Languages (the ability to speak, read and write Merouvian, which comes mystically to all mature hybrids)
- The ability to shift into mer and Triton forms, which carry the ability to breathe underwater and a +2 bonus to all rolls involving swimming

It should also be noted that the abilities listed in the caste descriptions below do not represent the limit of a given Triton's potential abilities, and many fully empowered Triton hybrids develop new abilities as time goes on, or even prior to their coming of age. It is not uncommon for Sirens, mature and otherwise, to develop Empathy, for example; or for Mystics to gain the ability to see and converse with the spirits of the dead. Most of these expansions do follow a reasonably logical course -- for example, a Healer will never develop the ability to shoot venomous spines or jets of flame (and for most Tritons, the ability to generate jets of flame would be useless in any event). In all cases, needless to say, such expansions are subject to the judgment of the Director.
