Well both "Interview with a Vampire" and "Queen of the Damned" did do justice to the Anne Rice Style of Vampires. And quite a bit can be learn about this style of Vampires from those two films.

Most people who read the novels tend to consider - "Interview with a Vampire" a better & more accurate version of of the novel - than Queen of the Damned was. The movie version of "Queen of the Damned" was actually a combination of the Vampire Lestat & Queen of the Damned.

In the Novels - Lestat prefers to feed on evil doers. Not only because they "taste better" but also because it kind of clears his conscience. It should also be noted that this style of Vampires often have "Dark Gifts" - such as flight, telepathy, & empathy. In the form of master vampires - they may be a couple of thousand years old. And as with most types of Vampires - as they grew older, they grow stronger.
