At this point, I just do it. For PCs, it's more difficult than for NPCs. I prefer a lower power to things (because the degree of holding back required for--say Superman--to punch someone and not render them into a wall smear is just ridiculous).

Frankly, it depends on what power you're looking at to determine how its done.
