Just in case you need something to spend about $200 on. . . March 28th sees the release of Peter Jackson's King Kong on DVD, but that little monkey is totally eclipsed by the Planet of the Apes - The Ultimate DVD Collection - With Ape Head Packaging DVD set. What do you get for your $180 bucks?
Just about every Planet of the Apes thing ever made. The original 1968 film. The four sequels to the original film. All 14 episodes of the 1974 TV series. All 13 episodes of the 1975 cartoon series. A whole bunch of those DVD documentary things. And, oh yeah, the 2001 film is in there too.
Yet somehow, there's no copy of Pierre Boulle's novel in the box.
But there is an ape head.
