Does anyone have any qualities they've cooked up for a martial artist of the supernatural persuasion? Similar to the Nanjin Adept, but minus the creepy
self-mutilation aspects, basically.

Well - I guess it depends on what kind of Supernatural martial artists your talking about.
You have the Bad to Bone Demon or Vampire killer which would require a quality such as a Slayer, Part Demon, Dhampire or Humane Vampire. These Martial Artists often have superhuman strength, agility & constitution as well as several levels of Hard to Kill, Regeneration, Fast reaction times and an abiility to take lots of damage and still keep fighting The other type is more in the spirit of the "Bulletproof Monk" or "the Medallian" - but these are basically just normal gifted martial artists with Chi abilities. Another idea for a superhuman martial artist with flashy "Sci fi abilities" would be similar to the Jedi or Sith from the Star Wars series. |

I have done statting for Capoeira (in the classic rather than cinematic); I'll post it as soon as I track it down.
Edited to add: Easier than I thought; there was a copy on this machine: Capoeira dancing can be taken as a Dance skill; to upgrade to the martial art, only the difference in cost has to be paid). The cinematic system doesn't use special skills, so knowledge of Capoeira could just allow you to use the Kung Fu skill to dance with (or you could have a dance maneuver, which amounts to the same thing). Likewise, the cinematic skill doesn't use differently rated combat moves, so those would just be the maneuvres a capoeirista should take as common. Also if anyone deserves Wall Flip... P.S. If these questions are related to a specific character, you'd better post it when you're done, else you're a big poo. :)

haha, I will post later, promise!
He's kind of looking for a Nanjin adept-like thing, that lets you do more than just a regular fighter. But Nanjin itself doesn't feel like it fits the character b/c of the background attached to it. On the Angel board I was pointed to a Street Fighter Netbook that looks promising, actually. |

Yeah, it's tough to find matches - most martial arts mechanics have an Asian air in mind - and Capoeira's Brazilian heritage gives it a different, I
guess, mood might be the word.

Isn't Capoeira - the Martial Arts form that was used by Halle Berry in "Catwoman". Basically gives her the cat-like fighting style.

I haven't seen Catwoman, but Capoeira isn't really catlike except for being very agile. It was developed among slaves, which is why it's also
developed as a dance - so it can be practiced in disguise as it were. It's also the only style I can think of that has moves designed to be used by someone
chained hand and foot. It doesn't have the mystic/philosophy angle that creeps into most martial arts (at least not that I know of), but as you'd
expect is culturally tied in to ideas of freedom and individuality - which is why a I figured a supernatural Capoeirista would have a distinct mood from your
average martial artist - the stereotype of a skilled practitioner would be a hero of the community not an aloof monk.
