I started a AMFBE game a couple years ago with a homebrewed deadworld of my own about a powerful entity who has manifested into our world. His coming was at first quiet, as he began preperation for what would eradicate humanity. Weak at first, he began consuming drifters, homeless, and prostitutes. As the essence of his victims made him strong, he began turning the husks of those he devoured into blood leeching drones that transfered essence of those they killed back to their master. As his powers grew, as did his army. He developed frightening new abilities that allowed him to make a select few of his creations faster, stronger, and deadlier. He was only recieving the energy of the freshly slain by those he was in proximity to, so he created organic sanctuaries that fueled his creations, and stored the essence of the dead so he may later imbibe. He let his creations run wild, their tainted bite infectiously spreading his twisted purpose.
Offering power to greedy or seduced mortals, he created lesser beings like he to carry out his plans. The military has attempted to stop this epidemic, but his powers are vast and any physical measures could only hinder him slightly. Those praying to "god" recieve only the solace that they believe that when they die they will transcend into heaven. With seven years of hell, it is now 2010, and the world has been eaten away save for pockets of humanity. Animals, insects, humans, are all pawns. And until 'he' is satiated, he will not quit supping from the life force of earth. Now, it's up for the remainder of humanity to try and survive a world turned against them.
As of late I only do this game with different players, as they live with the mistakes and successes made by the previous players. Some of these players become the monsters themselves.
Session 1
A group of normal every day college students stumble onto a zombie infested town spawned through outside influence. All four players try their best to survive, but each character dies. All except for one student who was seduced by the evil that advocated the entire situation. That character became a monster... It was a fun game.
Session 2
A select team of elite special forces soldiers were to be sent into the first town of suspected contact, where they were to find and rescue Dr. Sullivan, who had revolutionary data on the outside force. The entire special forces were slain by one of their own transformed into a monster. He systematically hunted down each other character and murdered them until the final battle between him and a (way smarter player.) that left a police station in shambles. When the dust settled, despite the cleverness of the human player, the monster player killed both him and the doctor they were sent to save.
Session 3
A solo game with one player who was a drifter. He stumbles upon an isolated diner nestled at the edge of a road hedged in forrest. The diner is compromised, and he works with the other patrons of the diner to find an escape from that situation. Wandering through the woods, they endure many obstacles until the conclusion, where the player sacrifices his life by holding off the monster from the first session for a family to get away. The conclusion yielded both he and the monster reaching a place of final resting.
Session 4... Manhattan...
Now, it's already been five years since the government has crumbled. The world has been taken over, and anyone who attempts to tap into a frequency that isn't within Manhattan ends up with either static, or screams. No one has been able to leave Manhattan, with every witnessed attempt proving fatal. Manhatten is left isolated from the other four boroughs and the rest of the world. There are a variety of factions, and people left on this hellish island city. If it's not the monsters that get you, it's the other humans.
Does anyone have any ideas that could help me improve what I have? Any suggestions that could help?
Or does anyone want to contribute some NPCs, factions, story seeds, or what ever that could help me out? I'll appreciate anyone who would help, and I will tell you what has been happening.
