So Darius had mentioned doing a mythic game using Armageddon after seeing a trailer for the remake of Clash of the Titans. I had stated I wanted to do something using Cinematic Uni. As I was on vacation this week, I decided to cobble something together, and share it with everyone (I'll also likely upload it to unifans when I get a chance). I chose to not make them overly powerful to start, since I don't feel they come across that way in the old myths. Following the way Tim did supernaturals in Ghosts of Albion, I created a base Demigod quality, and you can add powers on to that base to customize your demigod. I made 3 sample qualities, all based on Greek Gods (since Clash was on my mind). So without further ado, I present to you my Demigod Quality....
Demigod
10-point Quality
Demigods are the progeny of deities. They are normally raised in the mortal realms, with little influence from their godly parents. It is upon reaching adulthood that they tend to be drawn into the affairs of the Gods, whether by fate or chance.
As Demigods are as different as their godly parents, They have access to various powers. However, they do tend to share a few traits in common. All Demigods have the following abilities:
+2 to Constitution, and 3 more points to divide among their stats (be it physical or mental)
+2 to Attractiveness and/or Charisma (they can divide it between the two if they so desire)
2 Levels of Hard To Kill (most Demigods have at least 5 levels in this, but in higher level games, they can go as high as 10 levels)
Natural Toughness
2 Levels in Resistance: Poison/Disease
2 Levels in Resistance – This varies from Demigod to Demigod, depending on their parentage.
While being a Demigod has it's obvious advantages, there are also drawback's, as their parent's blood affects them:
Adversary at 3 Points (at the Gm's Discretion, this can be raised to 5 if the Adversary is a Deity opposed to/Rival of their parent)
1 Level of Covetous (character's choice)
1 Level of Mental Problem (character's choice)
In addition to the above abilities, Demigods tend to gain powers related to the abilities of their godly parent. This isn't always the case, but many do tend to follow their parents abilities as they get older. This is handled in the same way as creating Demon Packages in Angel, or Supernatural Beings in Ghosts of Albion. To create the specific Demigod, take the Demigod package, and add more powers (using either the powers from Angel and/or Ghosts), and create a specific package for that demigod. Below are a few sample Demigod qualities, to showcase how packages are made. All are based on the Greek Pantheon. I tended to favor material from Ghosts, as it has more options, but if something was only in Angel, then I went with that ability:
Berserker of Ares
25-point Quality
This offspring of the God of War follows his predilection for violence and warfare. This hulking brute wanders the land, searching for combat, be it personal or a full scale conflict between city-states and/or nations. Though they can be heroic, the Berserker tends to fall on the villainous side of things, as they prefer to propagate violence and warfare, not prevent it.
The Berserker stars with the Demigod Quality (10 points). The Berserker also adds another +2 to Strength & Constitution, and +1 to Dexterity (5 points). They then add Calling (5 points), 4 more levels of Hard to Kill (4 points), and Innate Magic (3 points). They suffer from Antisocial Impulses (violence) at the severe level (-2). The total cost is 25 points.
Crafter of Hephaestus
30-point quality
This progeny of the god of fire and blacksmiths follows her father's love of building things. She has a knack for creating new things, and fixing old ones. She also has some control over fire, as her father's favored element.
The Crafter starts with the Demigod Quality (10 points). She then adds +2 to both Intelligence and Willpower (4 points). She then adds 2 levels of Enchanting (see BTVS – The Magic Box for info) (10 points), Mending (3 points), and 1 levels of Pyrokinesis (3 points). She suffers from no additional drawbacks related to her parentage. The total cost is 30 points.
Reaper of Thanatos
20-point quality
This scion of the personification of Death acts follows in his father's footsteps, bringing death to mortals. He may do so out of passion, to right wrongs committed by his victims, or from some delusion that compels him to randomly kill someone. Regardless, the Reaper is a source of terror wherever he goes.
The Reaper starts with the Demigod Quality (10 points). He then adds +1 to Perception and +2 to Willpower (3 points). He gains the following powers: Chill of the Grave at 3 levels (3 points). Face of Death (4 points), and Supernatural Attack (Chill of Death), which does 15 points of damage at close range (3 points). He suffers from Aura of Corruption (-1), and Mental Problems – Delusions at the severe level (-2). The total cost is 20 points.
