For some time now, I've been borrowing creatures from Witchcraft for use in my Con X games. While I like the concept of Seepage (and I treat it as still being responsible for most supernatural phenomena in Con X), I also really like the idea of certain supernatural beings existing independently of Seepage... such as Vampyres and Ferals. In my mind, these beings have been around since the beginning of humanity, before Seepage accumulated and became the force it is today.
I recently had a player who expressed interest in playing a Witchcraft-style Vampyre working as part of an Aegis cell. We're not yet certain about how or why he was recruited. One idea involves a Suicide Squad type of scenario in which the Vampyre character has been forced to work for Aegis or be destroyed. Another option is that the character was once a human agent serving Aegis and was "turned" at some point, but decided to continue serving Aegis as a Vampyre. I know some people are going to argue that this doesn't make sense, or that Aegis wouldn't do this, but I'm permitting it since I'm curious to see how it plays out.
Anyway, I was wondering if anyone has tried using supernatural beings (especially vampyres) from Witchcraft in their Conspiracy X games, either as player characters or NPCs. What's been your experience with it? What were the problems? How would a Witchcraft Vampyre's feeding habits be affected by Seepage, if at all? My biggest concern is the character's inability to function during the day without spending massive amounts of Essence. I'm concerned that this will majorly affect playeability, since he won't be available for daytime operations. I understand that this is part of the drawback to playing a Vampyre, but I'm hoping for any advice or suggestions. I've been looking at the "Wake by Day" Quality in ESP #2, but it's 2 points per level, and the character would need a lot of levels to be effective. I'm afraid it'd be too expensive for my player. Any other options?
